What to do this weekend: 23-24 December
West End Sound Walk
Have you heard of the West End Sound Walks? There are four free scoundscapes downloadable from here to explore hidden gems of the West End. They are a collaboration of Edinburgh's West End and Msc Scound Design at the Edinburgh College of Art and they even created a festive trail (available until early January)!
Holyrood Evening Tour
Have you visited yet the Queen's official residence in Scotland: the Palace of Holyroodhouse? They have special evening tours running during the Christmas period so you can enjoy a very festive visit. This private tour also includes access to the West Drawing Room, used by the Royal Family as a private sitting room and normally not open to the public. The ticket also includes a glass of champagne and a copy of the official guidebook. If you are hooked on The Crown at Netflix, this is the perfect excuse for a palace visit!
23RD DECEMBER, SATURDAY
Custom Lane x Kestin Hare Christmas Market
If you still need to do some very last minute Christmas shopping, Custom Lane and Kestin Hare are hosting an excellent Christmas market in Leith. Once there, don't miss the Life Story and the Tom Pigeon pop-ups.
Winter Dinner Series
This weekend is your last chance to join The Free Company Winter Dinner Series at Cockdurno Farm. We love the concept that they are serving delicious local produce in a converted farm steading. For a small fee you can reserve a seat and then pay what you wish after the meal. If you missed out for this Saturday, they might have a few seats left for Friday.
24TH DECEMBER, SUNDAY
In my home country we have a family gathering on Christmas Eve, rather than Christmas Day. Although we will be spending Christmas in Edinburgh this year, we will stick to this tradition - who wants to wait until Christmas Day morning to open your Christmas stocking anyway? Read more about my home country's Christmas traditions here.
I would like to wish you, dear readers, and your families a very merry Christmas!
