What to do this weekend: 28-29 October
Our favourite historic venues are celebrating Halloween with a wide range of spooky events.
- Newhailes House - experience Halloween in a beautiful neo-Palladian villa with Mercat Tours. Don't forget to bring a torch and be prepared for pretty dark stories.
- Georgian House - spend your Halloween night at Charlotte Square with exclusive night-time access to the Georgian House, thanks to the National Trust for Scotland and Mercat Tours.
- Lauriston Castle - join a Twilight Seanse, have a Haunted Hunt or meet the Ghosts of the Castle at Lauriston. Tickets available from the Edinburgh Horror Fest website.
28TH OCTOBER, SATURDAY
Visit the Anatomical Museum
The Anatomical Museum is open to the public only on the last Saturday of the month. Don't miss the opportunity this month to check out the serial killer William Burke (or rather his remains) and other curiosities. The museum is open between 10am and 4pm.
29TH OCTOBER, SUNDAY
The Fruitmarket Gallery hosts a free weekend fair for the little ones and their families. Expect readings from children authors, craft activities and stalls with books and toys. The full list of events can be found and booked via Eventbrite.
Have a nice weekend!
