What to do this weekend: 13-14 January
Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour
The Banff Mountain Film Festival comes to Edinburgh's Festival Theatre and to Glasgow's King's Theatre this weekend. You can choose between two programmes: the blue and the red programme, each of which will feature a curated selection of the latest and best films from the world’s most prestigious mountain film festival. Which one will you pick?
13TH JANUARY, SATURDAY
Have you been to Leith recently? We live at the other end of town near Haymarket, so sadly we don't make it as often to Leith as we would like. Even if you are a Leith resident, you might find some new places and events on the following list to visit:
- Leith Market: winter trading hours are between 10am and 4pm, they even have a vegan quarter once a month.
- Tom Pigeon at Custom Lane: if you have not yet checked out the Tom Pigeon exhibition, go and visit! Don't forget to grab a cuppa from Williams & Johnson while there.
- Eat: we have been meaning to check out Toast at The Shore for ages! Also Malmaison has a great January offer with 50% off if you submit this form.
- Walk: our favourite buildings in Leith are the Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop, Lamb's House and @fi_bryant's beautiful home in an old factory which even has some ghost signs at the front.
14TH JANUARY, SUNDAY
Bloody Mary Brunch
Dry January? Nah, thanks. This Sunday's Grey Goose Bloody Mary Brunch at Harvey Nichols Edinburgh is way too tempting. Throughout January and February the Fourth Floor Brasserie has a delicious brunch offer including a brunch dish, a dessert, tea/coffee and a spicy Grey Goose Bloody Mary for just £25. You can view the sample menu here. Our pick is eggs Benny followed by whisky baba. If you want to stick to dry January, they even have a Virgin Bloody Mary on offer.
Have a nice weekend!
