What to do this weekend: 17-18 February
Artists' Book Market
For this year's Artist Book Market Fruitmarket Gallery has teamed up with Stills Gallery, so across the two galleries you can expect enlarged market space, more talks, workshops and greater focus on photography. You can register for the special events via Eventbrite and some of these events are free.
17TH FEBRUARY, SATURDAY
The Belle's Strategem
Royal Lyceum Theatre is showing a brand new adaptation of The Belle's Strategem, featuring Edinburgh New Town as a location instead of London. The play will run until 10 March - make sure to check out also the related creative learning events.
18TH FEBRUARY, SUNDAY
John Robins: The Darkness of Robins
Have you also missed John Robins' popular Fringe show, The Darkness of Robins last August? I actually had a ticket to one of the preview nights but only Mr Enthusiast went - I was knocked out by a nasty cold. Seems like history is repeating itself as I'm again down with the cold and have a ticket to this Sunday's show. Fingers crossed I'll be back to normal then as Mr Enthusiast is getting suspicious I'm just allergic to British humour. Check out how to get your tickets here.
When was the last time you visited the lovely indie shops in the Stockbridge area? There are quite a few newcomers from the long awaited Iolla showroom to the cute basement shop of the Lovecrumbs and Century General Store Outpost in St Stephen Street. We also heard great reviews on The Method, and I can't wait for the treatment Mr Enthusiast booked for me as a Valentine's present. And of course no Stockbridge stroll is complete without visiting the booklover's heaven Golden Hare Books and the beautiful interior shop Catalog Ltd.
Have a nice weekend!
