What to do this weekend: 24-25 February
Rachel Maclean at Talbot Rice
Head's up for modern art lovers: not one, but two new exhibitions are opening this weekend at the Talbot Rice Gallery. One of them features Rachel Maclean's work Spite Your Face, which was originally commissioned for the Venice Biennale. The second exhibition presents the work of video artist David Claerbout.
Glasgow Film Festival
Meanwhile in Glasgow, the Film Fest is in full swing - if you are a fellow cinema lover, we recommend you pay a visit. This year's highlights include Wes Anderson's long awaited animation, the Isle of Dogs as the opening gala and there is a wee Baltic outlook to celebrate 100 years of independent Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Check out the full programme here.
24TH FEBRUARY, SATURDAY
Anatomical Museum Open Day
It's time for the monthly open day at the Anatomical Museum of the University of Edinburgh. I finally visited the museum last month and highly recommend it, if you don't mind looking at human skeletons, preserved organs and stuffed animals. There are some impressive elephant skeletons at the entrance too.
25TH FEBRUARY, SUNDAY
Last Day of Pad Lifestyle Sample Sale
The Pad's sample sale is back at Custom Lane! Can you tell I am pretty excited? I have a bit of a lightbox addiction and that's how I found Pad a couple of years ago. Apart from fab lighboxes, they also sell other homeware including furniture, as well as fashion items. Mr Enthusiast is already concerned, but hopefully I will manage to distract him with some Williams & Johnson coffee while I shop the sales.
Have a nice weekend!
