What to do this weekend: 15-16 December
24 Doors of Advent - Third Weekend
As massive fans of Doors Open Day, we eagerly await its mini-version in each December: the 24 Doors of Advent. Every day between 1-24 December a door of a special building opens for free to the public. This weekend's doors are John Sinclair House with Historic Environment Scotland's rich archive of Scotland's architecture and archeology and the Augustine United Church at George IV Bridge. There will be also special programmes accompanying the open day at both locations, including talks and guided tours.
Christmas fairs and pop-ups
Another festive weekend with plenty of Christmas fairs and pop-ups, here are our favourites:
- Commercial Quay Christmas Market (Saturday only) - a lovely Christmas market in Leith, featuring local vendors. They will also have delicious food and drinks as well as music.
- 27 Elliott's Christmas Fair (Saturday only) - Jess' lovely neighbourhood cafe is hosting a fair with beautiful Claire Henry ceramics, mulled wine and festive baking.
- Penicuik House Winter Market (Sunday only) - the Penicuik House Cafe will be hosting a wee winter market, there will also be choir singing.
Have a nice weekend!
