What to do this weekend: 17-18 November
Edinburgh's Christmas wonderland opens this weekend and we're super excited. Apart from the usual Christmas market stalls at Princes Street Gardens, there will be of course ice skating, a Christmas tree maze, Santa's grotto, Star Flyer and Helter Skelter, just to name a few of the attractions. The Light Night will take place on Sunday from 3pm at George Street - don't miss the Christmas light switch on and the fireworks finale.
The Giant Lanterns of China
Meanwhile at the other side of town the Giant Lanterns of China make their return to Edinburgh Zoo. The display include over 450 beautifully crafted lanters. Expect unicorns, kelpies and even Nessie along the magical trail.
17TH NOVEMBER, SATURDAY
Warhol & Paolozzi
If you prefer spending the day indoors amongst some great contemporary art, then pop in to the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. This Saturday marks the opening day of the Andy Warhol and Eduardo Paolozzi exhibition at the Modern Two. We were lucky to get a preview of the exhibition on Thursday and highly recommend a visit.
18TH NOVEMBER, SUNDAY
Estonia Now Brunch
How about a culinary visit to Estonia this Sunday? You don't even need to take a plane to Tallinn, just jump on a ScotRail train to Glasgow - the popular Glaswegian restaurant Gandolfi Fish will be hosting an Estonia themed brunch. The menu will feature kama, Baltic herring and pulled wild boar amongst other delicacies. Booking in advance is essential.
Have a nice weekend!
