What to do this weekend: 21-22 April
Art lovers unite, it's time to jump on a ScotRail train and head to Glasgow to check out the Glasgow International art festival. It's the biggest fest to date with 268 artists, 90 exhibitions and over 80 events at 78 venues - including unusual locations such as a charity shop and a disused gas purifier shed. The art fest is on for 18 days, but it's time to plan ahead with such a busy programme!
21ST APRIL, SATURDAY
Record Store Day
VoxBox is celebrating Record Store Day at St Stephen Street in Stockbridge. Expect exclusive releases, live music and special guests. The event will run between 11am and 7pm and everyone's favourite Lovecrumbs Stockbridge is also joining in to supply coffee and cakes to fellow record lovers.
Edinburgh Food Studio is bringing you Chilean flavours this weekend, thanks to the visiting talented young chef Carolina Bazán (from Chile obviously). Expect Chilean flavours with a French twist, a signature style of Carolina. If you missed out, you might be able to book a few seats to another South American highlight, a visit of Bolivian chef Mauricio López in a couple of weeks.
22ND APRIL, SUNDAY
Last Day of Event Horizon
Last week we wrote about Event Horizon, the giant rotating balloon sculpture at the National Museum of Scotland which was part of the Edinburgh International Science Festival. The balloons remained in situ until this weekend, and this Sunday is your final chance to check out this impressive installation. Have you visited yet?
Have a nice weekend!
