Hi, I'm Ildiko

Welcome to the Weekend Enthusiast! A collection of travel, lifestyle, restaurant reviews and home of the Edinburgh Enthusiast.

What to do this weekend: 9-10 June

What to do this weekend: 9-10 June

ALL WEEKEND

Crail Food Festival

Fellow foodies, it's time for a daytrip to the East Neuk of Fife. The Crail Food Festival is on all weekend, check out the full programme here. Expect plenty of fresh seafood, chef demos and tastings. While in the area, do check out the neighbouring fishing villages, they are all pretty cute!

9TH JUNE, SATURDAY

Classic Vehicles Event

Finally an event for petrolheads! This Saturday's Classic Vehicle Event at Edinburgh's West End is right up Mr Enthusiast's alley and I'm pretty excited too. There will be 25 fab classic cars parked at the cute William Street from a 1953 R-Type Bentley to a 1981 DMC-12 DeLorean. It's also the perfect excuse to check out the lovely local businesses in the area. I am looking forward to popping in to Frontiers while Mr Enthusiast is busy with all the car chat. And we cannot wait to finally visit the Voyage of Buck for cocktails - it has amazing decor and we've been wanting to visit it for ages. Make sure to follow along my Instagram stories at @edienthusiast for a sneak peak.

World Gin Day

Happy 10th World Gin Day! Why not celebrate it with trying a brand new Scottish gin, Oro Gin from Dumfries and Galloway? You can taste it at the heart of Edinburgh, while (hopefully) enjoying some sunshine at The Ivy On The Square terrace. Choose one or both of the exclusive gin cocktails created especially for World Gin Day - The Melville and The Multrees. The lovely folk of Leopold and Frida kindly invited us to sample the cocktails and meet Ray, the head distiller. You're in for a treat - make sure to pop in to The Ivy On The Square until 30 June to try Oro Gin.

Exposed18

If you follow Rachel of @travelswithmyphone on Instagram, you are probably aware she has just graduated from the Edinburgh College as a photographer. She and other graduates are exhibiting their work at the Out of the Blue Drill Hall - visit the Exposed18 display to admire their stunning shots.

10TH JUNE, SUNDAY

Processions Edinburgh

Girls and women of Edinburgh, it's your chance to take part in a major mass-participation artwork and celebrate 100 years since the women's right to vote. Sign up here if you would like to join and find out more info about timings, route and accessibility here.
