What to do this weekend: 5-6 January
Message from the Skies
Illuminated and animated messages of six internationally celebrated writers will be projected to iconic Edinburgh buildings as part of the Message from the Skies fest. The messages will appear between 5-10pm daily until 25 January and the buildings involved include the National Scottish Monument on Calton Hill, the Custom House in Leith and Tron Kirk on the Royal Mile amongst others.
This free exhibition at Leith’s popular Custom Lane features work from nineteen designers and makers, including Tom Pigeon and others. While there, why not treat yourself at the lovely Williams and Johnson café. The exhibition is running until 20 January.
5TH JANUARY, SATURDAY
Last Day of Edinburgh’s Christmas
It’s your last chance to enjoy some festive fun at Edinburgh’s Christmas. Why not pay a final visit to the markets, have a ride on the carousel or enjoy some ice-skating.
6TH JANUARY, SUNDAY
Turner in January
Turner’s annual display of watercolours returns to the Scottish National Gallery on the Mound. The exhibition is free to visit and it is on until the end of January.
Have a nice weekend!
