What to do this weekend: 2-3 March
Scottish Snowdrop Festival
Due to February’s mild temperatures, this might be your last chance to spot snowdrops in their full glory in and around Edinburgh. One of our favourite places for snowdrop spotting is the gorgeous Abbotsford at the Scottish Borders. Sir Water Scott’s historic home is now open for the season and it’s a truly stunning place to visit. National Art Pass holders get half price entry.
2ND MARCH, SATURDAY
Botanic Cottage Open Hour
On every first Saurday of a month between March and October, the Botanic Cottage is open for visitors just for an hour. This Saturday’s opening hour is between 3-4pm and entry to the cottage is free. If the weather gets a bit rainy, you can always visit the glasshouses to warm up.
3RD MARCH, SUNDAY
Last Day of Glasgow Film Festival
This Sunday is the very last day of the 2019 Glasgow Film Festival - if you are a fellow cinema lover, it’s very much worth the daytrip to Glasgow. The closing gala is the UK premiere of the big screen adaptation of Scottish playwright Kieran Hurley’s hit stage show Beats. Browse the full programme here and don’t forget to book your tickets in advance.
Have a nice weekend!
