What to do this weekend: 1-2 June
The Fruitmarket Gallery is hosting its annual design fair this Saturday and Sunday between 10am-6pm. Entry is free. Expect print, jewellery, fashion and homeware stalls of local makers. There will be also various talks and workshops, the latter you can book via Eventbrite.
Meanwhile at Summerhall the rooms will be filled with gin (and gin lovers) - the annual Juniper Gin Festival is back for the 6th time this year. Meet the gin experts, taste delicious gin cocktails or drink it neat, attend masterclasses and learn about your G&T. We visited the fest in the past and thoroughly enjoyed it, cannot wait to check out this year's offer.
Hidden Door Weekender
This year's Hidden Door Festival returns to the old Leith Theatre. We can't wait to revisit this stunning art deco building and enjoy some live music, cinema, spoken word and visual art. The festival is running between 30th May and 2nd June.
1ST JUNE, SATURDAY
Eat Wild + Drink Wild
The guys of Buck & Birch are back at Dalriada with a very special dinner series titled 'Eat Wild + Drink Wild'. They have teamed up with mixologist Miran Chauhan who created paired drinks to go with the menu. Expect game, seafood, foraged treats and plenty of surprises. Book your tickets via Eventbrite here.
2ND JUNE, SUNDAY
BVAC Classic Festival of Motoring
Are you into classic cars and romantic Scottish castles? You can get both this Sunday if you visit the BVAC Classic Festival of Motoring at Thirlestane Castle, near Lauder of the Scottish Borders. Expect more than 1200 vintage and classic vehicles of all shapes and sizes. The main theme of this year’s celebration is 60 years of the Mini, what not to love! While there, don’t forget to check out the amazing Thirlestane and start collecting your stamps for the 11 Big Houses of the Borders project - read more here.
Have a nice weekend!
