What to do this weekend: 21-22 September
Weekend 4 of Doors Open Days
Doors Open Days Scotland turns 30 this year and they are celebrating with the largest range of free events across the entire month of September. The fourth weekend open days will feature the city of Glasgow as well as several regions: Highlands, Moray, North Lanarkshire, Orkney. Read here a sample itinerary from a preview of Glasgow Doors Open Days we did last year, although timings are different, most buildings are open again this year.
Colony of Artists
The annual Colony of Artists is back for the 14th time this weekend. The Abbeyhill colonies and resident artists will open their doors for the public and you can visit them in their homes. We’re looking forward to popping in to Narcissus Flower School and catching up with Behind Bracken. There will be a range of accompanying events at the Safari Lounge, the Century General Store and at Abbelyhill Primary School. Check out the full programme here.
The Ivy on the Square’s 2nd birthday
Time is running - would you believe The Ivy on the Square is already celebrating their second birthday at St Andrew Square? Until 7 October they are serving a limited edition cocktail and dessert to celebrate the occasion. The Cotton Cloud Candy includes a sumptuous strawberry dome base and white chocolate mousse and is a grown-up take on a birthday sweet treat. Their birthday cocktail, the Candy Floss Fizz, is a delicious blend of Prosecco complemented with rosé, lychee, ginger and Havana 3yr old Rum, topped with cotton fairy floss. Book your table here.
