What to do this weekend: 14-15 September
Weekend 3 of Doors Open Days
Doors Open Days Scotland turns 30 this year and they are celebrating with the largest range of free events across the entire month of September. The third weekend open days will feature several regions: Aberdeenshire, Angus, Dundee, East Renfrewshire, Falkirk, Fife West, Caithness, Midlothian, Perth and Kinross. Our pick is Midlothian, have you ever visited Arniston House?
Last month of the season at Jupiter Artland
If you are a fellow Jupiter Artland enthusiast, you might want to make the most of the last few weeks of the season. You only have the month of September to visit this beautiful sculpture park before it closes its doors until May 2020. For a sample itinerary, check out my blog post for the Art Fund from last year.
14TH SEPTEMBER, SATURDAY
Hendrick’s Portal to the Peculiar
Hendrick’s Gin returns to Edinburgh with a very special pop-up this Saturday (and also on Friday). Titled ‘Portal to the Peculiar’, you will find their ‘Not-so-normal-Newsstand’ by the General Register House, just across the road from The Balmoral. Expect a marvellous and whimsical experience. Free tickets can be booked via Eventbrite (not yet live, but will be shortly) and don’t forget to pick up the Unusual Times for a complimentary G&T at Lady Libertine.
15TH SEPTEMBER, SUNDAY
Art Walk Porty
Celebrate public space and artistic activity in Portobello during the final weekend of Art Walk Porty. This year's focus is on 'Land Mark' and it is a celebration of Portobello’s industrial past. Don’t forget to check out the art pop-ups at shops and other local venues. Check out the full programme here.
Have a nice weekend!
